Dr. Neel Shetty earned his DNB in Surgery from Manipal Hospital in Bangalore after completing his MBBS from St. John’s Medical College in Bangalore in 1997. Since 2011, he has been employed by the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, Minimal Access, and Bariatric Surgery as a Senior Consultant. With an excellent background in Laparoscopic surgery, he has managed challenging GI surgical patients for 11 years. In addition to his academic workload, he has published in indexed journals and has been on the organising committees of many local and national conferences and workshops. His areas of focus are advanced laparoscopic surgery, colorectal cancer, and pancreatic disorders. With a strong interest in laparoscopic procedures, Dr. Neel Shetty has been actively involved in the creation of “Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS)” since its inception in 2009 in Bangalore.
