The CPAP device uses a straightforward yet highly efficient breathing method during sleep. Here is a step-by-step explanation of how it operates:

• Step 1: Setting Up the Machine. A healthcare professional sets up the machine according to the doctor’s instructions. The correct level of constant pressure is determined on an individual basis depending on the patient’s unique situation.
• Step 2: Putting On the Mask. An airtight mask that provides comfort for the user is placed on the nose and/or mouth of the individual. There is an absolute need for an airtight seal between the equipment and the user’s nose and/or mouth.
• Step 3: Activating the Device. Once the mask fits correctly on the patient, the device is turned on. The device pulls air from the room, cleans it, and pushes it out through the mask at the required pressure.
• Step 4: Continuous Airflow is delivered. Unlike BiPAP machines, the CPAP delivers a single, steady pressure throughout the entire breathing cycle — both during inhalation and exhalation—keeping the airway open and preventing dangerous collapse or blockage.
• Step 5: Humidified Air is Delivered (If Enabled) If the humidifier attachment is active, the machine adds the right amount of moisture to the pressurized airflow — keeping the throat, nasal passage, and airways comfortable and irritation-free during long overnight therapy sessions.
• Step 6: Ramp Feature Activates (If Enabled) For new patients or those sensitive to pressure, the ramp feature gradually increases airflow from a lower starting pressure to the fully prescribed level, allowing the patient to fall asleep comfortably before reaching full therapy pressure.
• Step 7: Data are recorded. Throughout the session, the CPAP machine silently records important therapy data, including pressure levels, breathing events, usage hours, and mask seal quality, helping doctors review progress and fine-tune treatment when required.
• Step 8: Consistent Therapy Through the Night The CPAP machine works quietly and continuously. At the same time, the patient sleeps, delivering uninterrupted respiratory support and ensuring the body receives adequate oxygen throughout the entire night for safe and effective recovery.
