Nearly every routine X-ray works at home, chest X-ray at home, knee X-ray at home, and spine X-ray at home included. The full range:

• Chest X-Ray: Lungs, heart size, chest cavity. Easily the most requested home X-ray of the lot.
• Knee X-Ray: Shows bone alignment and how much joint space is left. Usually ordered after a fall, or when knee pain has dragged on too long.
• Shoulder X-Ray: Used to rule out fractures and dislocations and detects joint degeneration. Frequently ordered when there are problems with shoulder pain that does not seem to go away.
• Spine X-Ray: Can be cervical, thoracic, or lumbar, depending on where the problem area is.
• Ankle X-Ray: Routine for ankle twists and sprains to ensure there are no fractures before any treatment is done.
• Wrist X-Ray: An accidental fall on a fully extended wrist usually causes this problem. Hairline fractures of the wrist are difficult to detect without an x-ray.
• Hand X-Ray: For suspected fractures, joint damage, or swelling in the fingers and palm that nobody can explain.
• Foot X-Ray: Picks up fractures and structural problems, whether after an injury or for foot pain that keeps coming back.
• Hip X-Ray: Hip fractures are usually a matter of urgency for elderly patients who have fallen. Delaying the transport of an injured patient is no use at all.
• Elbow X-Ray: Typically requested after a fall or a direct knock to the elbow.
• Pelvis X-Ray: When used after trauma or to evaluate the conditions of bones and joints in the pelvis.
• Skull X-Ray: Less frequent, but sometimes necessary in case of head trauma and/or particular bone examinations.
• Other X-Ray Views: Anything else your doctor has specifically asked for can usually be arranged.
