An oxygen cylinder follows a simple yet highly effective process to deliver medical-grade oxygen to patients. Here is a clear step-by-step breakdown of how it works:

Step 1: The cylinder is delivered and inspected. Medifyhome delivers a filled, safety-certified oxygen cylinder directly to your home. Our trained team inspects the cylinder for proper pressure levels, valve condition, and overall safety before handing it over—ensuring complete reliability from the very first use.

Step 2: Attaching the Pressure Regulator. A highly accurate pressure regulator is firmly attached to the cylinder valve to reduce the high oxygen pressure inside the cylinder to an acceptable level that is safe to administer directly into the patient’s body via a nasal cannula or oxygen mask.

Step 3: Adjusting the Flow Rate as Prescribed by the Doctor. The caregiver adjusts the flow rate regulator to ensure that the exact amount of oxygen is delivered to the patient per minute.

Step 4: The Delivery Device is Connected. A nasal cannula, simple face mask, or non-rebreather mask is connected to the oxygen cylinder outlet—providing a comfortable and secure oxygen delivery pathway directly to the patient’s nose or mouth for effective respiratory support.

Step 5: The cylinder valve is opened. The cylinder valve is carefully opened, allowing compressed medical-grade oxygen to flow through the pressure regulator and the flow rate controller into the connected delivery device for immediate patient therapy.

Step 6: Delivery of Oxygen to the Patient. Fresh medical oxygen continuously passes through the nasal cannula or mask. It delivers the recommended level of oxygen to the patient’s respiratory system, ensuring appropriate oxygen levels in the blood during treatment.

Step 7: The pressure gauge is monitored throughout the therapy session. Caregivers regularly monitor the pressure gauge on the cylinder — tracking remaining oxygen levels to ensure an adequate supply and arranging timely refilling before the oxygen depletes completely.

Step 8: The cylinder is refilled or replaced. When the pressure gauge indicates low oxygen levels, Medifyhome arranges prompt cylinder refilling or replacement—ensuring uninterrupted oxygen therapy without gaps in the patient’s respiratory support and care.
