Dr.Bhupatiraju Somaraju is a famous cardiologist in India. He was born on 25 September 1948. Dr.Somaraju did his medical schooling and MD at Guntur Medical College; after that, he did his DM in Cardiology at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh. He started his career at Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, as an Assistant Professor of Cardiology. Later he worked in The Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) from 1984 – to 1993. Dr.Somaraju founded ‘The Care Foundation’ in 1996 along with a team. Later he was shifted into AGI hospitals in Gachobowli, Hyderabad. Dr.Somaraju won the Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences on National Science Day in 1997 and by the government of India, in 2001, with the fourth-highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri.
