Being one among the best scan centre in Dharmapuri, Tharika is well equipped with diagnostic equipments such as CT, MRI, X-ray, Mammogram, etc.,that facilitate accurate diagnosis.

A CT scan has become very mainstream and in demand for investigation in medical practices today thanks to the following benefits:

• More precise diagnosis
• Less invasive
• Giving the exact location of the pathology can be life-saving in acute conditions.
• This can be done for patients with metal implants.
• It helps doctors plan surgery in trauma cases without excessive mobilization of the patient, which can be helpful in ruling out a hemorrhaged type of stroke.

There are no serious risks associated with the CT scan as the amount of radiation used is low. Still, in a contrast CT scan, it is important to test for sensitivity to the contrast before conducting the test to prevent any allergic reactions due to the contrast. It is, therefore, important to tell the doctor if you have had an allergy to the contrast in a previous CT scan.

Sometimes a contrast dye is used to highlight certain areas of your body, depending on the reason for your scan.
